The Wolflite H-251 is a rechargeable Handlamp approved by BASEEFA and suitable for use in hazardous zones 1 and 2. Since its launch in 1980 the Wolflite has found a place as the market leader in hazardous area portable lighting equipment. Applications include the Petrochemical and Offshore industries, Fire-fighting, Gas and Water distribution, in short wherever a potentially explosive atmosphere may occur.
The Wolflite is constructed in highly durable polypropylene co-polymer, designed to withstand the effects of heavy industrial use. The glass lens is scratch and scuff resistant and will not discolour when in contact with chemicals. The entire product has been ‘drop’ tested for damage and both the outer and inner components proved equally highly resilient. Many unique design features are incorporated in the H-251 Handlamp, including; an interlock mechanism preventing internal access when the lamp is in use, short circuit protection via a ceramic fuse and a magnetically operated, hermetically sealed Reed Switch to avoid open internal sparking. The rechargeable battery pack is made up of two sealed lead acid cells assembled into a robust casing. This battery pack has a recharge/discharge life of approximately 500 cycles.
The H-251 Mk2, has charging contacts on the base of the lamp to enable battery charging ‘in situ’ using the lamp charger. The H-251 Mk2 Lamp chargers are available for mains (120/230v) input or low voltage (12-32v) input for use in vehicles. All chargers have Light Emitting Diodes which indicate state of charge, a rating plate on the charger explains the sequence of this. The Wolflite H-251 Handlamps conform with the DOT Class I ‘Safety Lamp’ specification, Regulation 17 of the SOLAS protocol and have been issued with a Lloyds Register of Shipping Type Approval Certificate. The Wolflite H-251 is supplied complete with battery pack, lock key and shoulder lanyard, together with maintenance instructions giving comprehensive details of spares available and guidance for installation.

C-251 charger for use with H-251 MK1 & C-251 HV charger with H-251 MK2
The C-251 HV/LV chargers are for use with the Wolflite H-251 Mk2 and Euro-Wolflite Handlamps. Batteries are charged internally in these products via charging studs on the base of the handlamp. The chargers are designed to hold the handlamps while charging, enabling the handlamps to always be ready for use. The C-251 HV is for use at mains voltages of 230 volts or 120 volts, selectable by voltage changeover switch. The alternative version, the C-251 LV is for use in vehicles at low voltages of between 12 and 32 volts.
The C-251 battery charger is for use with the Wolflite H-251 Mk1, which requires the battery pack to be removed to recharge. The battery is simply slotted into the C-251 and secured in place with the latch plate. State of charge of the battery is indicated on all Wolflite chargers by two coloured light emitting diodes, sequenced to show main and full charge.
Both the C-251 HV and C-251 LV are CE marked compliant with all relevant EC directives (EMC and LVD as applicable).
Additionally the C-251 LV carries the e11 mark showing compliance with the 72/245/EEC(95/54/EC) Radio Interference of Vehicles directive for use in vehicles operated by the Emergency Services.
All chargers may be used free standing or can be bench or wall mounted.
