The LX-400 Wolf LinkEx LED Temporary Luminaire is a high power LED leadlamp approved for use in ATEX Zone 1 hazardous areas, for use in short-term lighting installations and maintenance tasks in potentially explosive atmospheres.
With CE marking to the 94/9/EC ATEX Equipment Directive and IECEx Certification, the Wolf LinkEx LED Leadlamp can be safely used in Zones 1 and 2 potentially explosive gas, vapour, mist and dust atmospheres, where a T3 temperature class permits.
LX-400 Luminaires provide high quality ambient lighting, each unit utilising two arrays of high power LEDs, offering numerous benefits over conventional fluorescent lighting including: a brilliant white light output, high reliability, a low maintenance ‘fitted for life’ light source, and high efficiency giving significant power savings, allowing longer cable runs and more lights powered from a single supply.
Luminaires are supplied as standard in ‘180°’ format, with the two LED arrays positioned ‘side-by-side’ to give effective unidirectional illumination into the working area when placed around the perimeter.
The ‘360°’ version, with LED arrays positioned ‘back-to-back’, gives effective omni-directional ‘all round’ illumination, and is available to special order. A light diffusing coating on the transparent lamp enclosure reduces LED glare.
Luminaire construction is lightweight, compact and highly robust, ideal for handling and installation in demanding conditions. The lamp enclosure: end caps and transparent tube, are impact resistant polycarbonate polymer with anti-static coating; the high visibility shock absorbing bump rings, fitted either end, are chemical resistant and minimise the risk of drop damage.
LinkEx LED Luminaires are available in two voltage input ranges: High Voltage (HV) 85-264V AC units for general hazardous area temporary lighting applications; Low Voltage (LV) 19-28V AC/DC units, powered from from Wolf 24V ATEX Zone 1 Transformers, for use in confined space applications with a higher risk of electric shock such as metal tanks or wet conditions. Both versions have wide input voltage ranges to maximise product usability and safety in chains of multiple lights or when using long cable runs – situations when supply voltage can drop significantly.
To give the user extra confidence in ensuring safe operation of lamps within the specified ATEX certified voltage tolerance, all Wolf LinkEx LED Luminaires uniquely incorporate a ‘SOVI’ monitor – Safe Operation Voltage Indicator – showing when lamp voltage is safe, within limits (green indicator) or unsafe, outside of limits (red indicator).
LX-400 Luminaires are supplied with input cable and ATEX certified plug to customer specification. Additionally, units can be fitted with integral ATEX approved sockets allowing multiple lamps to be quickly and safely connected, carried and positioned in a chain whilst energised, allowing temporary lighting to be installed and operational within minutes.
Every Wolf LinkEx LED is supplied with a lens protecting film and webbing hanging straps; further installation accessories are available including magnet brackets, scaffolding brackets and a tripod stand, making this a truly versatile lighting solution for temporary lighting installations and activities in hazardous areas.
